2025 CCHS/CR Volunteerism/Community Service Scholarship
The Colorado Council on High School/College Relations (CCHS/CR) is pleased to announce the CCHS/CR Scholarship Program for the Graduating Class of 2025 and continuing Colorado college/university students.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the 2025 CCHS/CR Scholarship is to assist Colorado high school seniors or continuing college students, who will attend a college/university within the State of Colorado. CCHS/CR is a voluntary organization and therefore the primary selection criterion for this scholarship will be volunteerism/community service. Sixteen, $1,500 scholarships will be awarded for the purpose of defraying tuition costs. The scholarships will be distributed among the seven CCHS/CR Regions and the continuing college students and may be utilized at any of the Colorado Council Member Institutions of Higher Education in the State of Colorado.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicant must be a 2025 graduating high school senior or continuing college student.
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident and a resident of Colorado for their final two years of high school.
- Applicant must be accepted at a Colorado Council Member Institution enrolling in the next academic year.
- Applicant must demonstrate significant experience in volunteerism/community service.
- Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Applicants will be selected according to the following considerations: volunteerism/community service, extracurricular activities & dedication to others. Selection is based on, but not limited to, these criteria:
- A Personal Essay
- Two Recommendation Forms
- An unofficial high school transcript and college transcript (if applicable)
2025 APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Complete and submit the 2025 Scholarship Application. Your application must include:
- Personal Essay following this prompt: Discuss the most meaningful volunteer experience you engaged in within your community. Include what you did, who you impacted, and how you were impacted by the experience.
- Resume or activity list detailing your:
- Community Organizations & Service
- Schools Organizations & Clubs
- Work Experience
- Major Awards & Honors
- An unofficial high school transcript and college transcript (if applicable)
- Email your Recommenders the link to the recommendation form.
- Make sure they are clear on which capacity they are filling out the form: high school/college official or community service supervisor.
- Submit all pieces of the application in one submission no later than March 15, 2025.
Please note: Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
ESSENTIAL DETAILS:
- The CCHS/CR Scholarship committee must receive all parts of the application, including 1-2 letters of recommendations in one submission no later than March 15, 2025.
- Award recipients will be notified by no later than May 15, 2025.
- This award for a maximum of $1,500.00. It is non-renewable and contingent upon the availability of funds.
- The Executive Committee of CCHS/CR has the right to change or modify this program in any manner.
- Awards are competitive and will be based on scholarship application information, personal essay, and letters of recommendation. Disbursement of funds is contingent upon enrollment in a Colorado college or university as stated in Qualifications.
