The Forward Steps Guardian Scholars program is currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year! You can learn more about the Forward Steps organization here:

Our scholarship priority deadline is May 31st, 2024. (Rolling applications are accepted and considered on a case-by-case basis).
The Forward Steps Guardian Scholars program supports Colorado’s current and former foster youth as they pursue a post-secondary education. At the time of applying, students must be enrolled in an associate, bachelor, trade or certificate program from a public Colorado institution, be less than 26 years of age and demonstrate unmet financial need. Forward Steps scholars receive:
• Financial assistance
• One-on-one personalized mentoring
• Career and academic coaching
• Opportunities for personal and professional development
• Access to tutoring
• Community support
Guardian Scholars will receive financial support each semester tailored to their particular circumstances including:
1. a $1,000 baseline stipend split between the beginning and end of each semester and
2. up to $2,000 in additional support to cover emergency/urgent needs, including housing, and childcare expenses as needed on a case-by-base basis, dependent on available funding.All financial support goes directly to the scholar.
