Position Summary:
Fort Lewis College seeks two admission counselors based in the Front Range area who will be responsible and accountable for freshman and transfer recruiting as assigned by geographic area, academic discipline, and co-curricular program. The positions are temporary, one-year, full-time, salaried exempt staff positions with full benefits package. The persons selected for the position will be outgoing, organized, able to work independently, and travel extensively to achieve recruiting objectives. The position reports to the Director of Admission.

Required Qualifications:
• B.A. or B.S. Degree
• 1 year’s experience in a higher education or secondary education setting
• Ability to self manage, motivate, and advocate
• Effective interpersonal, presentational, and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain accurate records in required formats
• Ability to manage multiple student query and follow up cases
• Technology skills including Microsoft Office Suite, database queries, and digital communications platforms
• Previous experience in event planning
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel extensively to fulfill job responsibilities, with trips up to two weeks in length
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to establish and work from an office in one’s home
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:
• Education, training, and/or experience in sales and marketing

Responsibilities
• Develop expertise on assigned geographic areas, academic disciplines, and co-curricular program
• Manage time and allotted financial resources to meet recruiting objectives
• Gather, summarize, and analyze information and prepare written reports
• Schedule high school visits and college fairs and coordinate other outreach activities to prospective freshmen and transfer students
• Present to groups of and meet individually with prospective students and their families
• Develop and maintain relationships with counseling staff, advisors, program faculty and co-curricular sponsors in areas of responsibility
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of all institutional policies, agreements and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: $34,000
