Today Sen. Chris Romer (D-Denver) introduced the much anticipated SB 170, which is the Tuition Equity legislation championed by the Higher Education Access Alliance. The bill would permit an undocumented student that had attended a Colorado high school for 3 years and obtained a diploma or GED to attend public institutions of higher education in this state at the in-state tuition rate. Prior to the bill's introduction the sponsor had been very reserved about sharing the language of his bill, so for mostthis will be the first look at the specific details of the legislation.
