POSITION: Administrator: Admissions Recruitment Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position reports to the Manager of High School Relations. The Admissions Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for recruiting prospective students to the college. The Specialist job duties will include the following: conduct educational presentations to prospective students; maintains relationships with recruits from area high schools, vocational centers, and community organizations; informs prospective students, parents, administrators, counselors and teachers of the post-secondary opportunities available at Arapahoe Community College, maintains prospective and new student database; responsible for follow-up communication with new and prospective students. This position coordinates on-campus recruitment programs including but not limited to, high school counselor appreciation breakfast and luncheons and campus tours related to the recruitment of prospective students; implements, evaluates and assists with the revision of all policies and procedures related to the recruitment of prospective students. The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining all data collection regarding prospective students and co-enrolled high school students. The Specialist will be familiar with State laws and guidelines regarding dual enrolled high school students. They will also be the primary person who oversees the data coding regarding billing and credit requests in the student information system for all dual enrolled high school students. This position will be responsible for coordinating with various campus departments regarding student /district billings, student grades and course verification. The Specialist will be required to attend all academic advising meeting to learn about various academic programs The Specialist serves on college committees and external professional development organizations that encourage the recruitment of new students to Arapahoe Community College.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- · Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, management, marketing or a related field.
- · Strong, effective interpersonal communication skills. Ability to verbally communicate effectively in one-on-one situations as well as group presentations.
- · Excellent writing skill required.

- · Must have complete knowledge of all academic and financial provisions in C.R.S. Title-22 Article-35 and Title-22 Aritcle-34
- · Valid State of Colorado Driver’s License required; the Specialist will be expected to use own transportation to recruiting events.
- · Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally will be required.
- · Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- · Experience in a community college setting.
- · Experience in a post-secondary recruitment setting.
- · Knowledge of Banner Student Records System.
PROJECTED STARTING DATE: July 21, 2008
COMPENSATION:Commensurate based on experience. Contract based on education and experience as related to the 2006-07Administrative Salary Plan. ACC offers a fringe benefit program including health, dental and life insurance.

FORT LEWIS COLLEGE
Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado is seeking an Admission Counselor. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2008.
This position will have responsibility for coordinating, planning and implementing the recruitment strategies for high school students in Arizona and New Mexico. Other out-of-state territories, such as the Southeastern US, may be assigned as well. The incumbent also will be responsible for the School’s multicultural recruitment and outreach efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include; territory management activities, personalized communication with prospective students, telemarketing, developing relationships with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors and alumni and assisting with regional and on-campus admission events. The representative also will help cultivate alumni involvement in Four Corners recruitment activities. Additional responsibilities that complement the office also may be assigned. The incumbent is expected to play an active role with others on campus in discussing recruitment, outreach and retention efforts for students of color.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Self-starter, possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of a liberal arts education
• The ability to establish long-term partnerships with pertinent parties (i.e., guidance counselors) and to effectively prioritize those relationships, based upon historical enrollment data, are critical skills required of this position
• Ability to travel regularly and work some evenings and weekends as needed
• Familiarity and comfort in working with diverse populations including but not limited to Native American and Hispanic groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in an educational setting, preferably in an admissions office
• Knowledge of Fort Lewis College, Durango, the Four Corners region, and regional Native American groups.

Admission Counselor

The University of Colorado at Boulder is seeking candidates for two admission counselor positions to begin July 15, 2008.
Admissions counselors are expected to establish and maintain effective communications with constituents within the University, high schools, community colleges, and other agencies and organizations in order to successfully recruit and enroll an academically superior and diverse student population for the University of Colorado at Boulder. Responsibilities include extensive travel; presenting the university to a variety of audiences; personalized contact with students, parents, and counselors through meetings, phone conversations, and email/written correspondence; and participating in the admission decision process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university prior to the start of employment; a valid driver’s license; ability to work well with high school and college age students as well as racially and ethnically diverse populations; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; strong public speaking skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently as well as with a team; and familiarity with computing. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Salary range is $31,000-33,000 per year and will be commensurate with experience. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Admissions Counselor is a full time position based in Gunnison. The selected person will assist in developing and implementing a strategic plan that will enhance the quality and quantity of the WSC new student enrollment from Colorado and selected out of state markets. A successful WSC Admissions Counselor must be able to:
- Speak convincingly to prospective students and to groups about the
benefits of attending Western State College, and of the benefits of the
Gunnison area;
- Travel extensively, visiting high schools and attending college fairs.
- Initiate frequent personal contact, telephoning, and email communication with
prospective students and parents.
- Attend evening and weekend special events and activities.
- Establish relationships with high school guidance counselors.
- Coordinate special recruiting events for WSC faculty,
administrators and students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree; excellent oral and written communication skills; PC skills; excellent
interpersonal skills; and demonstrated task and time management expertise. Must have a current valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One to three years proven experience as an admission representative or admissions student tour guide or ambassador; knowledge and appreciation for the environment associated with a comprehensive liberal arts institution; Western State College graduate.
