Obtaining Graduate Credit for Attendance

Workshops and graduate credit are possible thanks to collaboration with two other not-for-profit organizations, The Professional Development Institute and Rocky Mountain Association of College Admission Counseling, both of whom support the professional development of high school counselors.

There are two ways to gain credit for the Fall Counselor Workshops and the December Annual Conference of the Colorado Council on High School/College Relations:

In-service/Professional Development Credit (No charge) One-half credit is given for attendance at one day of the Fall Counselor Update Workshops. Similarly, 1/2 credit is given for attendance at one day of the December Annual Conference. At the end of each day, the attendee completes a form with name, school, address and email. A certificate is produced after the completion of each day and mailed to the attendee.

Adams State College Credit ($ Fee) One college credit through Adams State College is given to attendees of one day of the Fall Counselor Update Workshops AND one day of the December Annual Conference, OR two days of the December Annual Conference. At the end of the December conference, the attendee completes the Adams State College registration form, pays a fee (check or credit card) and receives instructions on writing a 2-page reaction paper. Once papers are received and graded by the instructor, a grade list is mailed to Adams State where proper credit is assigned. Transcript requests can be made to Adams State.

What are folks saying about KOO Workshops?

This four-day course was worth as much or more than my whole graduate program. And the practical handouts will be invaluable to me and my students.”

This was the best workshop I've ever taken! I believe a course or workshop of this type should be included in every Counselor Education Program.”

It is an absolute must for new counselors! The information presented in these four days would have taken me years to learn—the sharing is great.”

Who knows how many kids could have been helped in the three years I've been trying to learn this on my own! This conference has given me a great deal of confidence and shown me I was not dumb—just underinformed.”
