What a wonderful 2010 Annual Conference it was! We celebrated the Year of the Tiger by "Navigating the Educational Jungle" at the beautiful Embassy Suites in Loveland. We were thrilled with a great attendance, and welcomed many new Council members to their first Annual Conference. It is our hope to bring in our membership from outside the Denver metro area through varying the location of our conference, and our 2010 event reaffirmed this decision.
Sessions focused on the hot topics affecting us all, from ICAP implementation to Concurrent enrollment policy to mental health and best practices in our schools. We enjoyed sessions delivered by those of us "in the trenches", and were especially honored to have real live students as session presenters as well. A very grateful thanks to all those who volunteered their time as session speakers.
Our keynote speakers, Andy Long, Dean of Enrollment Management, from Northeastern Junior College and Marcus Straub, Life Coach provided us with a glimpse of the positive side of education and helped us to reaffirm what we do each and every day—help students and families move beyond high school to a better future.
Thanks to all those who volunteered their time, energy and expertise in making the 2010 Annual Conference a hit!
