This year's highlights include:
A note from the president:
What a success the 2009 Annual Conference was!
Held on December 3 and 4 at the Hyatt in the Denver Technical Center, the conference welcomed 447 registrants (267 two-day registrants, 43 Thursday-only registrants, and 137 Friday-only registrants). This year marked our first attempt to do the general conference survey online, and 186 of you responded. According to veteran members of the committee, this is an unprecedented response. The session evaluations remained on paper and were collected immediately after each session. According to Jim DeKeiffer, whose diligent hand-tallying made it possible, "This year's 92% is a huge increase in overall satisfaction" compared to the historical levels (82%-86%) over the past 10 years.
We must also recognize the hard work of Waneta Elliot in her selection and coordination of the sessions. The Casino Night was a popular hit again this year, despite some concerns that the Denver location would severely depress attendance. The 2010 Annual Conference Committee, (Chaired by President-Elect Misty Curtin-Sellden) will continue to work on the variety and spacing of session topics as well as keynote speakers to meet the needs of both high school and college constituents.
Looking forward to seeing all of you at next year's conference!
