  • Short, informative and structured updates from CCHS/CR member colleges/universities, non-profit member organizations, CDE endorsed public area technical colleges

2023 Agendas

This year, two of our Workshops will have an alternative schedule. Some details below as well as a brief agenda in the links.

Aims Community College, Red Rocks Community College, University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Auraria Campus will each have:

  • Traditional, presentation style updates from the colleges/universities; similar to previous workshops
  • Opportunity to attend 2 breakout sessions
Colorado Mountain College & Adams State University
  • Round Table updates with the colleges/universities, similar to speed dating - but recruitment style :)
    • You and your colleagues will be seated at a table with 2-3 colleges. During 10-minute intervals, the college representatives will each share their updates with you, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions in return. After 10 minutes, the colleges will rotate tables till you have had the chance to talk with every college.
  • Opportunity to attend 3 breakout sessions

Breakout Sessions:

  • CDHE Updates: This is a presentation on any relevant updates to this service year for CDHE. There will be time for questions.
  • FAFSA Updates: The new FAFSA is just around the corner… this presentation will cover the updates/changes and allow an opportunity to ask questions.
  • Support Undocumented Youth and Mixed Status Families: Undocumented students and mixed-status families deserve educators and social service providers who understand their unique challenges and create supportive environments that enable students to thrive, regardless of their immigration status. This breakout session offers an overview of some challenges and best practices, led by an expert facilitator with first-hand experience.
  • Collaborative Corner: Visits with College Reps: This is an opportunity to discuss the effectiveness of high school visits with college reps. The purpose of this session is to highlight the ways that visits are valuable and discover ways that they could be improved to better serve students. Specific points of discussion include scheduling practices, format of the visits, topics covered during visits, etc.
  • Outreach and Community Engagement Initiatives: Hear from the Outreach and Community Engagement division at the Colorado Department of Higher Education. You will be informed about the FAFSA Portal, CASFA Overview, and what the state is doing to increase completion rates. You will also learn about the Education and Training Voucher (ETV), FosterEd, programs geared to support the post-secondary education.
  • Host Site Spotlight: Each Host Site is planning their own breakout sessions to best showcase their campus.
